BIOGRAFIA
Filippo Furnari nasce a Patti (ME) nel 1977.
Appassionato di Disegno Tecnico e Astronomia fin dalle scuole medie, frequenta il liceo Scentifico e si laurea in ingegneria nel 2005 a Palermo all’età di 26 anni.
Durante le scuole medie Cura una raccolta di disegni di aeroplani realizzati tramite gli strumenti propri del disegno tecnico.
Mostra le sue opere al cugino Australiano chiedendo , note le sue abilità quale disegnatore, di finalizzarne una.
E’ stupito dalla prospettiva e inizia a sperimentare fin dai banchi di scuola.
Nel 1998 si reca per un mese in Australia, dai nonni materni, ha modo di osservare i paesaggi e le insolite forme di vita vegetale e animale del continente e le abitudini presso luoghi come Adelaide , Melbourne, Sydney.
Nutre una forte ammirazione per l’omonimo cugino abilissimo nel disegnare con la tecnica del chiaroscuro.
Durante Gli anni universitari mette da parte il disegno;
sono infatti anni governati dalla sua passione per la musica e per lo sport, in particolare partecipa ad eventi di audizione presso l’ateneo di Palermo con il suo gruppo dell’epoca e nel periodo che va dal 1997 al 2000 scrive alcune canzoni, più volte proposte in vari eventi e manifestazioni artistiche.
Nel 2006 si trasferisce a Milano dove trova impiego come ingegnere presso una grossas società americana.
Viaggia in italia e all’estero
Diventa con il passare degli anni milanesi un appassionato di mostre e fotografia, diviene un osservatore assiduo e inizia ad ammirare il potenziale dell’espressione artistica visuale.
Adora gli impressionisti, durante questi anni si reca due volte in Olanda per visitare il museo di Van Gogh, apprezza la città in tutte le sue forme e resta impressionato dall’architettura e le forme di costruzioni e palazzi..
L’interesse per la fotografifa rappresenta una nota costantemente accesa durante gli anni a milano, oltre a mostre varie e studi autodidattici adora sperimentare ed immortalare paesaggi di montagna, fiori e angoli nascosti in città..
FF: La fotografia permette di fermarci e dare la corretta attenzione ad un immagine, ad un luogo, ad un volto, ancorando il ricordo stesso all’immagine .
Recentemente trova una forte ispirazione improvvisa e inizia a disegnare a matita , aggiungendo qualche colore di tanto in tanto a disegno ultimato.
Si sveglia di notte , ed ha visioni al mattino, sente la necessità, l ‘esigenza di fissare su carta le immagini partorite dalla mente.
Il disegno per me è come una memoria di immagini o situazioni viste ed in qualche modo rimaste dentro un cassetto chiuso da qualche parte nella nostra mente.
FF: A volte tiriamo fuori certi ricordi o certe visioni e poterle esprimere è come dare vita al nostro pensiero..
Inutile dire che ciò che disegniamo è strettamente personale e radicato in noi, sin tanto che a volte inconsapevoli tracciamo linee e definiamo orizzonti, volti o anatomie che in qualche modo appartengono al nostro subconscio..
Occorre analizzare attentamente ciò che disegnamo di getto in modo non premeditato poichè quella figura sa tutto di noi.
BIOGRAPHY
Filippo Furnari was born in Patti (ME) in 1977.
Passionate about Technical Drawing and Astronomy since middle school, he attended the scientific high school and graduated in engineering in 2005 in Palermo at the age of 26.
During middle school he curates a collection of drawings of airplanes made using the tools of technical drawing.
He shows his works to his Australian cousin asking, once he knows his skills as a draftsman, to finalize one.
He is amazed by the prospect and starts experimenting right from the school benches.
In 1998 he went to Australia for a month, to his maternal grandparents, he was able to observe the landscapes and the unusual forms of plant and animal life of the continent and the habits in places such as Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney.
He has a strong admiration for the cousin of the same name who is very skilled in drawing with the chiaroscuro technique.
During his university years he puts drawing aside;
in fact, these are years governed by his passion for music and sport, in particular he participates in audition events at the University of Palermo with his group of the time and in the period from 1997 to 2000 he writes some songs, several times proposed in various events and artistic manifestations.
In 2006 he moved to Milan where he found employment as an engineer at a large American company.
He travels in Italy and abroad
Over the years in Milan, he becomes passionate about exhibitions and photography, becomes an assiduous observer and begins to admire the potential of visual artistic expression.
He loves the impressionists, during these years he travels twice to Holland to visit the Van Gogh museum, he appreciates the city in all its forms and is impressed by the architecture and the shapes of buildings and palaces ..
The interest in photography represents a constantly burning note during the years in Milan, in addition to various exhibitions and self-taught studies he loves to experiment and immortalize mountain landscapes, flowers and hidden corners in the city ..
FF: Photography allows us to stop and give proper attention to an image, a place, a face, anchoring the memory itself to the image.
Recently he finds a strong sudden inspiration and starts drawing in pencil, adding some color from time to time to the finished drawing.
He wakes up at night, and has visions in the morning, he feels the need, the need to fix the images born from his mind on paper.
Drawing for me is like a memory of images or situations seen and somehow remained inside a closed drawer somewhere in our mind.
FF: Sometimes we bring out certain memories or certain visions and being able to express them is like giving life to our thoughts..
It goes without saying that what we draw is strictly personal and rooted in us, as long as we sometimes unconsciously draw lines and define horizons, faces or anatomies that somehow belong to our subconscious..
It is necessary to carefully analyze what we draw in an unpremeditated way because that figure knows everything about us.
