Antonio Maria Fanelli è nato il primo giorno dell’anno 1967, a Napoli. Ha studiato al Liceo Artistico e poi all’Accademia delle Belle Arti della sua città. Forse se dicesse di aver esposto a Barcellona o New York il suo lavoro sarebbe più bello o più prezioso? Forse un compratore sarebbe più affascinato da questo particolare? Quand’ anche così fosse, non sarebbe il suo cliente ideale. Nec spe, nec metu. Come recitava l’antico motto dei pittori maledetti. Senza speranza, senza timore.

Antonio Maria Fanelli was born on the first day of the year 1967, in Naples. He studied at the Art School and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in his city. Perhaps if he said he had exhibited in Barcelona or New York his work would be more beautiful or more valuable? Perhaps a buyer would be more fascinated by this detail? Even if this were the case, he would not be his ideal client. Nec spe, nec metu. As the ancient motto of the cursed painters used to say. Without hope, without fear.
